If you are reading this you most likely heard about this from a friend or ran into one of our local reps at your gym. If you tried it you probably loved the flavor and mental focus but are wondering what is all in the formula and what does it help do?
Before we get into the formula breakdown, we want to take a moment to go over what the product was designed to do. That way you have a better understanding of why the formula is the way that it came to be.
First off, this is designed to be a low stimulant, high nootropic formula. This is done intentionally as this pre-workout is meant to give high mental focus without the jitters and shakes.
Next, this is a creatine free formula. We don’t think creatine is bad, but we wanted the formula to be more versatile and give people the option whether or not to supplement with creatine. If you wanted to add an unflavored creatine to the mix it would still have the same flavor.
Also, this pre-workout is designed to help achieve a leaner look. There are several ingredients that trigger the release of stored body fat and increase fat metabolism. That doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to build muscle though. The formula has one of the best blood flow, “muscle pump” blends on the market with creatine precursors to help natural creatine production in the body.
Lastly, this is a tingle free formula. In most pre-workout products there are either high doses of Niacin or Beta-Alanine. Both can give you a “flushing” feeling which can feel like a tingling sensation in various parts of the body. Ambrosia does have Beta-Alanine but it is a lower dose and it is buffered so you don’t experience the tingle but get the endurance you are looking for.
Formula Breakdown
L-Arginine
Amino acid used in the body for nitric oxide production. Helps with vasodilation and increasing blood flow throughout the body. This amino acid is one of the primary building blocks of creatine. It also helps to reduce ammonia build up in the body. Higher doses have shown improvement in weight loss regimens.
Arginine AAKG (Alpha-Ketoglutarate)
This form of Arginine is buffered against stomach acid for better absorption and uptake in the body. The AAKG molecule gets converted into more Arginine for a delayed release effect.
Citrulline Malate
Citrulline is an amino acid that is part of the nitric oxide cycle in the body. It is a metabolite (byproduct) of the break down of Arginine in the body. It also combines with Ornithine to recreate Arginine in the nitric oxide cycle. This specific version is bonded with Malic Acid which buffers against breakdown in stomach acid and also helps to reduce lactic acid buildup to increase endurance during a workout.
Arginine HCl
This version of Arginine is bond with HCl (Hydrochloric Acid) which is the same kind of acid in the stomach. This acid buffers against the HCl in your stomach since they are the same pH level so no reaction takes place. This helps the body pass it along to the small intestine intact for a higher absorption rate.
L-Carnitine Tartrate
This amino acid help with the body’s ability to convert fat into energy by helping to transport fat into the mitochondria. This version has been bonded with the Tartrate molecule to help with improved absorption. The body can also convert this version of Carnitine into Acetyl-L-Carnitine which the brain uses to produce the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine which provides a nootropic effect. This can improve cognition, focus, and memory.
Alpha GPC (L-Alpha-glyceryl phosphorycholine)
Alpha GPC is a nootropic that is themetabolite of choline. This helps the body to release more Acetylcholine which helps with cognition, learning, and memory. It has shown to help in GH (Growth Hormone) production and increase endurance performance.
Green Coffee Bean Extract
This supplement will supply a small amount of natural caffeine but the main purpose of this is the compound known as Chlorogenic Acid. This compound helps with slowing down the digestion of carbohydrates in the body and blocking some from being absorbed. This will help to reduce insulin spikes by keeping the glycemic index of the incoming carbs lower and gives the body more sustained energy.
Caffeine Anhydrous
This version of caffeine is distilled for quick uptake in the body. (Think white sugar vs brown sugar) This acts as a CNS (Central Nervous System) Stimulant agent to stimulate Acetylcholine by blocking Adenosineto the A1 receptor which triggers sleep promotion. By doing so this triggers the release of more acetylcholine. Caffeine is also a vasoconstrictor, which in high amounts like 300mg and higher, can counteract some of the effects of NO boosters in most pre-workouts.
L-Norvaline
This amino acid help block the enzymes in the blood that limit Nitric Oxide levels in the body for increased vasodilation when using NO based products. It makes NO products more effective overall.
Mucuna Pruriens Extract (Velvet Bean Extract)
This supplement provides the body with L-Dopa which boosts the Dopamine (the “feel good” chemical) levels in the brain. This helps with Epinephrine and Norepinephrine level subsequently which triggers the flight or fight response in the body. This leads to the release of fat stores to be used as fuel as well as an increase in fatigue and pain reduction.
Yohimbine HCl
This is a concentrated form of Yohimbe that is a metabolite of the breakdown of Yohimbe in the body. This also helps with Dopamine levels in the brain. This has been shown in studies to help with fat loss in conjunction with an exercise routine.
Huperzine-A
This herb has been shown in clinical studies to help preserve neurotransmitters in the brain improving their half life (making them last longer in the body). This helps with cognition, focus, and memory retention and has shown in several studies to reduce the effects of Alhizmer’s on the brain.
B-Vitamin Blend
B-Vitamins in general help with the body’s metabolism. Most people think of metabolism as weight loss but it’s actually more of a timing mechanism like how gears keep a watch ticking. This blend is designed to help with carbohydrate metabolism, improved Dopamine levels, and improved mitochondrial function to give good energy during the workout.
Beta Alanine
An amino acid that, when in the body, combines with L-Histidine to help create the amino acid Carnosine. Carnosine acts as an antioxidant to reduce free radical buildup and lactic acid buildup from the muscles to help with endurance during a workout and can also help with anti-aging. In higher doses it can cause a tingling sensation.
